Joomla is set up to insert a global description and keywords for all web pages unless specific descriptions/keywords are provided for a particular article.



Log into the Joomla administrator.




Adding Meta Keywords and Descriptions for an Article

1.) Open the Article Manager by clicking Content > Articles



2.) Select the article to modify the meta information. In this example, we will revise the Contact Us page.




3.) Select the "Publish" tab



4.)  Complete the Meta Description and Meta Keywords fields in the right column.



5.) Click "Save and Close"





Setting the Global Description and Keywords


1.) Go to System > Global Configuration



2.) Scroll to the bottom of the "Site Settings" page




3.) Complete the "Metadata Settings" section



4.) Click "Save and Close"
